For accommodation, we made extensive use of information provided by the Internet directories of A1 Tourism and to a lesser extent Smooth Hound. Both directories list over 9000 hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, and self catering accommodation in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Information is presented in a consistent format and in most instances web-sites provide photos, and more specific details about accommodation and tourism. We pre-booked half of our accommodation, and with one exception we were able to phone a day or two before arrival to obtain accommodation listed with A1 Tourism and Smooth Hound. The cost of Bed and Breakfast accommodation ranged from £45 to £32, and the average was £39. In general, we were satisfied with our accommodation. B and Bs of a very high standard have been indicated with ***.The following is a list of B and B establishments at which we stayed.
